We were able to give this living room a fresh breath of life from what it originally was. We began by sanding back the walls and ceilings, while filling any defects that needed it. We sanded and spot primed the plaster patches. Then we applied two coats of Dulux Ceiling White to the ceiling, allowed it to dry and then applied two coats of Dulux Wash & Wear to the walls.

The cabinets were also to be painted. Because they were all laminated MDF we had to sand them right back and washed them down with a sugar soap. We then applied a coat of vinyl etch, otherwise the next coats of paint wouldn’t adhere properly. These were followed by two top coats of Dulux Aquanamel, lightly sanding between each coat. We waited a day for the paint to dry properly. We then masked off the insides of the shelves and applied two coats of dark blue to give it a contrasted look.
